How to Factory Reset a Thermal Printer

  • Successor to the Datamax E-Class MKIII
  • Spare parts are not sold by the manufacturer.

1.    Turn off the printer and wait 30 seconds
2.    Press in on the Cover Latches on both sides of the printer and open the Printer Cover
3.    Press in on the top of both Locking Tabs to open the Print and Ribbon Mechanism
4.    Turn the printer back on, the Status LED will blink once, will go solid, and then continue blinking
5.    Press and hold the ‘Feed / Pause’ button on the first, green blink of the Status LED, Continue to hold the ‘Feed / Pause’ button until the Status LED turns off, then release
6.    Make sure the labels are correctly loaded
7.    Close the Printhead & Printer Cover
8.    Wait 30 seconds for the Factory reset to complete
9.    Turn off the printer and wait another 30 seconds
10.    Turn the printer back on and let it continue to turn on normally

  • Spare parts are no longer available

If the printer is printing extra labels and stopping halfway then please perform the below steps in order to Factory Reset, or Standard calibration

If printer is printing in the middle of the label and is missing the top & bottom parts of the label then perform a Factory Reset

Factory Reset
•  Make sure the printer is turned on, labels loaded and closed
•  Press and hold the play/pause button for around 17 seconds. It will blink Orange > Green > Red. 
•  Release when it is blinking Red
•  The lights should flash orange/red then back to Green.
•  If it does not flash then turn the printer off then back on.

Standard calibration
•  Close the printer with labels loaded
•  Press and hold the play/pause button for around 12 seconds. It will blink Orange > Green. 
•  Release on blinking Green.
•  Printer will feed 2-3 empty labels and should stop on the right spot with solid green light
